Create a group, record what each person paid, choose how each expense should be split, and use the resulting balances to settle directly with one another.

1. Create a group

Start a group for a trip, home, meal, event, or any plan where several people share costs. Invite the people who should participate in the ledger.

2. Record the actual payment

Add the expense and identify who paid. If two or more people funded one purchase, record each contribution as part of the same multi-payer expense.

3. Choose a fair split

Split the cost equally or assign the agreed amounts to the relevant participants. Calculations use integer paise and conserve the full expense total.

4. Review balances and settle

paymatrix shows who owes whom. Members can use a UPI QR code to pay in their own payment app and then record the settlement after the transfer is confirmed.
